From Smart to Responsive
Workshop
We believe that it is vital to acknowledge the power of technology when talking about the future. It is clear that technology offers a big potential but demands great responsibility.
Despite existing knowledge and technological advancements, achieving a truly smart city is not an easy task. On the contrary, many of the initiatives developed in recent years as part of this ongoing global trend, only raise more challenges. It is not the technology that paves the path towards a “livable, resilient sustainable and connected future city”, but the
- resourcefulness,
- involvement, and
- adaptability of its inhabitants.
The collaborative process between citizens and the city government differentiates a responsible and responsive city from a smart city.
In this session, Estefania will introduce the concept of Responsive Cities and will show different examples from research to practice.
