Can technology save healthcare?

The pandemic has exposed the weaknesses of the current healthcare system globally. Healthcare providers are reaching the limits of their capacities. Workflows and processes need to be redefined and optimized to cope with the heavy burdens. New technologies such as the use of wearables to monitor critical patients and IoT solutions need to be embedded to reduce the workload for nurses and physicians.

Also, with costs constantly rising and an aging population, maintaining the high quality of the healthcare system while containing costs remains a key challenge in the future. To reduce the high pressure on the healthcare system, technology will play a greater role in adapting the healthcare system to the new normal and beyond.

  • How digital-ready is the current healthcare system?
  • What counts as critical infrastructure?
  • Where do we need to focus first?
  • Which technologies are critical?
  • What needs to be done now?

These and many other questions need to be urgently answered to digitize the healthcare system and leverage the benefits of existing technologies. In this workshop, Garif will focus on the critical infrastructure and solutions that are necessary to enable the secure usage of existing solutions such as telemedicine and other digital health applications.
